Human and Environmental Security
A people-centered view of security is a prerequisite to achieve sustainable stability and development. The human security approach includes the safety and wellbeing of individuals as well as economic, environmental, and political security. Climate change, loss of biodiversity, challenges to energy security – we are becoming aware of environmental threats and their consequences for national and international security and stability. At the same time, working together on solving environmental problems can be a starting point for long-term cooperation. Thus, the concept of human security offers new options for peace and stability.
